VICTOR GRUSCHKA SPRINGER was born in Jacksonville, Florida on 2 June 1928. His father was Leon Gruschka (1896–1968), an Austrian immigrant who came to the United States in 1913. His mother, Rae Dayan (1899–1992), was born in what is now Lebanon and came to the United States with her family in 1912.
